The Fight to End Cancer gala could not happen without awesome community support. Our 2019 Gala will mark our second year partnering with Prince Edward Medical and we are delighted to have them on board. Their commitment and support to the event speaks volumes about their desire to make a difference. In their own words:
“What an honour it is to support the Fight to End Cancer this year. We were inspired by the advocacy and commitment of Jennifer Huggins and her team at the Kingsway Boxing Club. Like most people, each of us has personally been affected by cancer in some form or other. As family physicians, the doctors at Prince Edward Medical see first hand how devastating this disease can be to patients, their family and their communities. We also see first hand what a difference a well supported system can make on a patient’s well being.
We see and are grateful for all the progress that has been made through research for cancer diagnosis, prevention and treatment. This progress is only made possible by supporting the cause. We all benefit when we work together and The Fight to End Cancer is such a great way to bring the community together to help make a difference for everyone. “

About Sandy Tecimer | Prince Edward Medical Founder
Dr. Tecimer has a BSc from McGill University (1999), an MSc in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Toronto (2001) and graduated from McMaster University Medical School (2004). She completed a residency in Family Medicine at McMaster (2006) and a Women’s Health Scholar Fellowship at Women’s College Hospital, through the University of Toronto, training in Women’s Health and Low Risk Obstetrics (2007). She practices comprehensive medicine, seeing people of all ages. Her youngest patients are newborns and her oldest patient is almost 100. She delivers her youngest patients at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Toronto, working with a group of family doctors and visits her elderly patients at home. She lives in the neighbourhood and is excited to be able to walk to work!

The Fight To End Cancer (FTEC) is a year round initiative carried out by ambassadors, sponsors and volunteers worldwide. Funds raised by FTEC are donated directly to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Each year we celebrate the incredible hard work and dedication of our FTEC family with a black-tie charity boxing gala. This gala showcases 10 men and women who represent our Official Fight Team.
