Join Helmand Alekozai In His Fight To End Cancer!

Helmand turned pro in 2015 shortly after his father lost his battle to stage 4 liver cancer. Since turning pro, Helmand has competed professionally in Czech Republic, China, England, and Canada. In 2021, Helmand lost his eldest brother Abaseen (age 30) to stage 4 colon cancer. While grieving, Helmand was involved in a life-altering, life-threatening car accident one month after the death of his brother.
The injures acquired had his right side of his body immobile. Suffering, a fractured scapula, 3 cracked pelvic bones, ruptured bladder, laparotomy, concussion (with stitches at the back of his head), and a tibial plateau fracture (injury to the right knee).
In this dark moment of Helmand’s life, he discovered the power of mental strength and fortitude.
This drive gave him the ability to regain his mobility through rehabilitation and hard work, to come back and win 2 consecutive come back fights in less than a year from his car accident. Prior to his last bout, Helmand lost one of his clients; Dr. Grace Yuen to cancer and Helmand dedicated his last bout to her in her honour.
Helmand plans to be the voice and raise awareness towards the Fight to End Cancer, and is planning to raise funds through bootcamps and seminars.

About The Fight To End Cancer
The Fight To End Cancer (FTEC) is a year-round initiative carried out by ambassadors, sponsors and volunteers worldwide.  Over $2,000,000 has been donated to date, since our inaugural year, in 2012.  Funds raised by FTEC are donated directly to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.  Each year we celebrate the incredible hard work and dedication of our FTEC family with a black-tie charity boxing gala.  This gala showcases ten men and women who represent our Official Fight Team.  Our goal is to raise funds for cancer research year-round with the support of the local community and business owners.  Let’s make a difference now in the fight to end cancer, for a long and successful future for everyone.  This is an event like no other and has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in Toronto. www.fighttoendcancer.com
