In September 2016, Afsheen Panjalizadeh-Marseh AKA Af, was diagnosed with cancer and his life took a whole new direction. What did Af do? He started a blog!
The blog ended up inspiring numerous people as he took them through his fight to end cancer journey #YouGotThis . In 2016, he was nominated as an honorary ambassador of Fight To End Cancer back because of his incredible fight and journey with cancer. In 2017, he fully recovered and had a whole new perspective in life that you will read more about in his blog (linked below) and his new book coming soon.
What does Af do apart from being a true inspiration in the Fight To End Cancer?
He recently wrapped up running operations at the Commonwealth games 2022. Before that, he had worked on three Olympic Games: London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. He has seen the world and tries to be a positive beam of light for everyone he meets!
Today, we are honoured to award our friend Af with the True Hero Award in the Fight To End Cancer. He is an incredible inspiration, and we thank him for all that he does! You rock, Af!
“I was recently made speechless by receiving the True Hero Award in the Fight To End Cancer. Nominated by the people of Kingsway Boxing Club and Jennifer Huggins all the way in Toronto, Canada.
When I first wrote my status about my diagnosis it was just to vent, I never thought it would impact people across the world. It can be strange to keep talking about it but I talk with new people being diagnosed every month. My aim now is to have my book published to support more people around the UK and globally. Hopefully one day I can make a visit to Toronto and personally thank Fight To End Cancer who have already raised millions in support of Cancer Research.”
