Like many of us, Alison Turnbull has been directly touched by cancer, losing her mother to the disease in 2016. A veteran attendee of the annual Fight To End Cancer gala, Alison says she was motivated to become a fighter when she witnessed the level of commitment to training she saw in the FTEC team. She is the most recent member in a long line of fighters coming from Eagle Professional Resources and Alison was surprised to learn that scoring the W on fight night will be included on this year’s performance review.
I will be spending the next 7 months training with 9 other ‘non-boxing professionals’ – and on June 2, 2018 I will be stepping into the ring to ‘literally’ fight to end cancer.
In June of 2016, my mother Iris Collins – one of the most vibrant, healthy, amazing and giving people I have ever known – was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and within 10 weeks she was gone. I am fighting for her – as well as for the countless others I know who have been impacted by this terrible disease.
Anyone who knows me knows that before this July I had never seen the inside of a gym. But if you are looking for me between now and next June, that’s likely where you’ll find me.
I am incredibly grateful for all of the support – I have a very lofty goal but know that together we can do it!

ABOUT FIGHT TO END CANCER
Founded in 2011, the Fight To End Cancer has donated over $750,000.00, in support of cancer research, with proceeds going directly to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
The year-long fundraising efforts of the Fight To End Cancer are celebrated each year in an event like no other. Featuring a new group of white-collar men and women, with no prior boxing experience, Fight To End Cancer’s annual black tie gala concludes months of their intense training, in a sanctioned Olympic-style boxing event.
Fight To End Cancer has quickly grown to become a premium fundraiser and showcases these brave individuals, as they lace up their gloves and step into our ring to help knock out cancer.
