This weekend may have been cold and rainy, but things certainly heated up in the Northstar Montessori School in Mississauga! For the past month, Mariela Burkett has been raising funds for Fight To End Cancer with her Buck-A-Burpee Campaign. On Saturday, she took it to the next level with her Survivor Bootcamp, with all funds benefitting the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
Over 90 supporters showed up on Saturday November 19 to kick cancer in the butt at the biannual Survivor Bootcamp with Mariela Burkett
The bootcamp saw over 90 participants, all eager to get their sweat on! Mariela’s message to everyone who showed up ‘Be There’! She spoke about being there for EVERYONE who is going through a rough time, no matter what!

The day started off with a warm up of jumping jacks, shadow boxing, and high knees! The music was pumping, everyone was smiling and having fun. Mariela switched things up by having people in groups while running different stations. Burpees, Planks, Push-Ups and much more — Mariela pushed the near hundred participants to their limit, reminding everyone that “Defeat Is NOT An Option!”
