The 2019 Fight To End Cancer (FTEC) Media Weigh-Ins were yet again a HUGE success! The event was held on Thursday May 23rd, 2019 at the MINDSET Brain Gym in the heart of Yorkville, where hundreds of guests were introduced to this incredible space. The flagship studio and art gallery provided a funky backdrop for this years event. The night was unforgettable, with a Tequila Tromba signature cocktail, beer from our official partners at Steam Whistle, a fantastic selection of plant based food from the Planta kitchens and an incredible afterparty hosted by our Kasa Moto family!
FTEC Founder and Executive Director, Jennifer Huggins, and her partner in crime and FTEC Head Coach and Director Virgil Barrow, along with their incredible crew of staff and volunteers, set the stage. Media, sponsors, family and friends attended the event to celebrate the true heroes, the fighters.

Jim Mosher, President of Landscape Plus Ltd, shared a few words about what the Fight To End Cancer means to him personally. Landscape Plus Ltd. has been a presenting partner since the inception of Fight To End Cancer.

Lance Itkoff (President) and Luigi Spinosa (Vice President Merchandising) of Grafton Apparel, are heavy weight players in the Fight To End Cancer. Presenting partners and national ambassadors, the Grafton family have raised over $300,000 in direct support of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

Their commitment, along with our incredible FTEC sponsors and family, have helped the event grow year after year. We have raised over $1.2 million dollars to date for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Our Live Auction Partner, Humbertown Jewellers, also joined us this year. Their generous live auction donation of the prestigious Ladymatic Omega watch is sure to draw out the cheque books on fight night.
The real stars of the evening were the FTEC2019 fighters, as always! They have a little over a week until they step into the ring so the weigh-in event gave them the chance to have a little fun with each other, burn off a little nervous energy and get out of the gym. The crowd was treated to some impromptu pose-offs, some sharp-witted trash talk and some seriously good hair. All kidding aside, it is obvious that this group of fighters have developed some genuine connections that will undoubtedly carry on long after they step out of the ring.
The entire FTEC family would like to send out a special thank you to the MINDSET team for being incredible hosts, to the team at Kasa Moto for keeping the party going and to all those who came out to support, and who continue to support us, year after year. It is because of people like you that beating cancer is possible!

About The Fight To End Cancer
The Fight To End Cancer (FTEC) is a year round initiative carried out by ambassadors, sponsors and volunteers worldwide. Over $1,000,000 has been donated to date since our inaugural year in 2012. Funds raised by FTEC are donated directly to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Each year we celebrate the incredible hard work and dedication of our FTEC family with a black-tie charity boxing gala. This gala showcases ten men and women who represent our Official Fight Team. Our goal is to raise funds for cancer research year-round with the support of the local community and business owners.
