A Record-Breaking Year with $17,065.33 Raised for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation
The greens at Hawk Ridge Golf Club were alive with purpose, laughter, and heartfelt determination as the Golf To End Cancer tournament returned for another unforgettable year. What began as a local gathering of family and friends has evolved into a beacon of hope — a day where sport, community, and compassion unite in the shared mission to help end cancer in our lifetime.
This year’s event, held under perfect skies and even brighter spirits, raised an incredible $17,065.33 in support of the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, marking another milestone in this growing legacy.
Now in its second year under the passionate leadership of Liz Cairns and her family, the tournament has grown far beyond a charitable golf outing. It has become a deeply personal journey of remembrance, resilience, and renewal — one that continues to inspire everyone who takes part.
Golf To End Cancer 2025: We ride in style but we do it all for the cause!
A Message from Liz Cairns – Strength, Family, and Purpose
For Liz Cairns, this event is about more than fundraising; it’s about giving back and finding purpose through pain. Having faced cancer firsthand, Liz has transformed her own experience into a mission that touches lives and strengthens her community.
“Every year, this tournament reminds me just how strong our community truly is,” Liz shared. “We’ve all been touched by cancer in some way, and coming together like this gives us the chance to fight back — to make a difference, to honour those we’ve lost, and to support those still fighting. The love and support from everyone who came out today fills me with so much hope.”
Her words capture the heart of what makes Golf To End Cancer so special — a shared belief that together, we can create change. Liz’s drive, empathy, and commitment have become the heartbeat of this event, turning grief into action and transforming her family’s story into one of community-wide strength.
A Day of Laughter, Legacy, and Love
From the first tee-off to the final putt, the day was filled with energy, laughter, and connection. Teams gathered not only to enjoy a day of golf, but to rally around a cause that affects so many.
Participants shared stories, remembered loved ones, and celebrated survivorship — all while contributing to life-saving cancer research and patient care through the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
Behind the scenes, the Cairns Family, the Hawk Ridge Golf Club team, and the Fight To End Cancer (FTEC) organization worked tirelessly to ensure the event ran seamlessly. Their dedication was evident in every detail — from the beautifully organized course to the thoughtful touches that honoured those who continue to fight.
The day closed with smiles, cheers, and a few happy tears as the fundraising total was announced — a staggering $17,065.33. Each dollar represents not only generosity but hope, carrying forward the belief that one day, cancer will be defeated for good.
