Vieni Estates Wine & Spirits, established in 2013, is a flourishing family venture rooted in Pasquale Raviele’s dream of bringing Italy to Ontario.

Tragically, Pasquale lost his battle with cancer in 2017, inspiring son Antonio to honor his legacy. As a sponsor for the Fight to End Cancer since 2016, Antonio and his family pay homage through initiatives like the launch of Vieni’s Founder’s Blend in 2018, capturing Pasquale’s vision crafted by Master Wine Maker Mauro Salvador.

Pasquale Raviele, seeking to bring a touch of his native Italy to Ontario since immigrating to Canada, took a significant step in 1997 by acquiring 175 acres on Fly Road in Beamsville. Over the years, the vineyard underwent a transformation, boasting a variety of grapes. In 2013, Vieni Estates Wine & Spirits officially opened its doors, becoming a thriving family venture. Today, Pasquale’s surviving wife, Caroline, and his sons, Antonio and Gian Paolo, actively contribute, maintaining the winery’s success alongside founding partners Alessandro Spassiani and Paul White.

In 2016, Antonio, along with Ivana Vaccaro and their law firm (RV Law LLP), joined the Fight to End Cancer family by sponsoring fighter Natasa Jamnik-Sousa. Antonio’s involvement deepened as he attended the event that year, instantly becoming a fan and dedicated sponsor. Returning in 2017, he brought more supporters to the FTEC gala, raising awareness. Following the tragic passing of Pasquale Raviele, the family sought to honor his legacy. This aspiration materialized on August 2nd, 2018, with the launch of Vieni’s Founder’s Blend. Presenting this vintage at Il Ponte Cucina Italiana, complete with Master Winemaker Mauro Salvador, the crowd enthusiastically sampled the exquisite wine alongside a lavish spread. Mauro detailed the meticulous grape selection, with 60% Cabernet Franc and the rest Baco Noir contributing to the Founder’s Blend.

Mauro highlighted the significance of Cab Franc, a globally appreciated red varietal well-suited to harsh Canadian winters, especially in Vinemount Ridge, Vieni’s cooler sub-appellation. Baco Noir, a renowned French hybrid, emerged in the 1900s post-phylloxera attack in France, displaying resilience to winter and boasting high resveratrol content. Antonio emphasized the meticulous creation of this wine, paralleling its commitment to the fight against cancer.

What sets Founder’s Blend apart is its distinctive commitment – 10% of every sale goes directly to supporting the Fight to End Cancer. This generous gesture from Vieni Estates and the Raviele family significantly bolsters the collective endeavour to End Cancer in our lifetime.

About Vieni Estates

The founder of Vieni Estates brings his passion for wine from Italy and combines it with his love for this distinctly Canadian wine region, and particularly the unique attributes of the rolling hills of the Vinemount Ridge.  Master winemaker Mauro Salvador takes the best of the many varietals grown on the estate to produce a broad and compelling range of still wines, ice wines and sparkling wines crafted in the Charmat method (Metodo Italiano). Each offering is crafted to reflect the best of the terroir, the varietal, and the winemaker’s skills. In addition to the many fine wines produced there, Vieni Estates also offers traditional Italian-style grappas and spirits distilled from the many fruits of Ontario. The Fight To End Cancer Gala serves as a cornerstone for year-round community engagement, providing a platform to unite supporters, raise awareness, and inspire action. While the gala itself is a high-profile fundraising event, it is our ambassador-led initiatives throughout the year that significantly drive overall contributions and deepen community impact.

The Fight To End Cancer (FTEC) is profoundly grateful for the unwavering support of our presenting partners: Grafton Apparel, Landscape Plus Ltd., and our newest partner, APEX Mobile Media.

Since 2014, Grafton Apparel has been a force in the community, contributing over $2 million to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation through innovative, year-round initiatives.

Landscape Plus Ltd., under the leadership of Jim Mosher and family, has been instrumental since 2012, helping to raise over $3 million in direct donations. Their dedication honours personal connections to the cause and strengthens our community impact.

Elevating their commitment, APEX Mobile Media, a key sponsor since 2020, has stepped into the role of Presenting Partner for 2025. Their global reach and expertise in mobile advertising are set to amplify FTEC’s mission, bringing the fight against cancer to a worldwide audience. Together, these partnerships embody our collective resolve to knock out cancer in our lifetime.

📆 PAST EVENTS

Vieni Estates proudly supports the fundraising efforts of Fight To End Cancer (FTEC) in the battle against cancer and what may have physically taken their founder (Pasquale Raviele), but never his immortal soul. This is why Vieni continually donates a portion of the sales of its Founder’s Blend wine to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

At an upcoming, exclusive Lunch, Vieni invites you to relax and indulge in great wine and perfectly paired food, all while helping us fight cancer.

This year, Vieni Estates has chosen to direct the fundraising from this event toward the campaign of fighter, Alissa “Wink” Winicki, one of 10 fighters competing in FTEC’s annual boxing match set to take place on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the Old Mill in Toronto.

We look forward to seeing you at Vieni!
