The Fight To End Cancer (FTEC2020) Fight Team made their way to Kingsway Boxing Club for a 6:30 am call time on February 23, 2020, a wintery Sunday morning.  This was the kick off to a busy day of photos and video shoots in support of FTEC2020.  Our Fight Team started their day with coffee in hand and a team of incredibly talented hair and makeup artists prepping them for the Official 2020 Fight To End Cancer Promotional Campaign photoshoot.  While most of us dreamed of an early spring, the fighters donned formalwear provided by Tip Top, official fight gear supplied by Kimurawear and stepped into the limelight.
On this day, the familiar proving grounds of Kingsway Boxing were transformed from old-school boxing gym to a space resembling a Hollywood soundstage, complete with bright lights, multiple photographers and behind the scenes photos and social media posts.

The Fight Team and production crew migrated to The Old Mill Toronto for an afternoon filled with more photos and videos, after a full morning and team lunch at Kingsway Boxing.  Shedding their training gear, the transformation from fighters to models was completed by fantastic formal wear courtesy of TIPTOP Tailors, now in its seventh year of partnership with FTEC.

World-renowned photographer for the campaign shoot, Spencer Wynn, chose the beautiful Guild Hall as his inspiration for this year’s shoot. The room, with its massive windows and coffered ceilings, was filled with a soft natural light giving the photos a dream-like quality.

The campaign photo features the 2020 Fight To End Cancer Fight Team, head coach Virgil Barrow and Jennifer Huggins, FTEC Founder and driving force, exquisitely captured, reflecting the detail and craftsmanship obvious in the historic venue.

The Fight Team, well into their second month of training, has been putting in the hard work required to ensure they have a great showing on fight night.  Beyond the gym, the team is ramping up their awareness and fundraising campaigns with social media posts, articles and now a full-fledged, multi-location, multi-set photoshoot.  The team was filled with energy and camaraderie from first call to wrap-up, despite the early start and a long day.
The output from the 12-hour day are a collection of stunning photos and inspiring videos that will comprise the core of the promotional material for the Fight To End Cancer Gala Fundraiser being held Saturday, May 30th, 2020 at the Old Mill Toronto in support of the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

About The Fight To End Cancer
The Fight To End Cancer (FTEC) is a year round initiative carried out by ambassadors, sponsors and volunteers worldwide.  Over $1,500,000 has been donated to date since our inaugural year in 2012.  Funds raised by FTEC are donated directly to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.  Each year we celebrate the incredible hard work and dedication of our FTEC family with a black-tie charity boxing gala.  This gala showcases ten men and women who represent our Official Fight Team.  Our goal is to raise funds for cancer research year-round with the support of the local community and business owners.  Let’s make a difference now in the fight to end cancer for a long and successful future for everyone.  This is an event like no other and has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in Toronto. www.fighttoendcancer.com
