FTEC2017 FEATURED FIGHTER | MARK BENOIT

Leading up to Fight Night we will be featuring one of the incredible men and women who have joined the Fight to End Cancer in support of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

Meet our #FeaturedFighter, out of the Red Corner, Mark Benoit, sponsored by Z103.5
AND NOW…OUT OF THE RED CORNER… Meet Mark ‘The Old Man Fighting’ Benoit! Founder and the creative mind behind MBCM Inc., a boutique hospitality development company, Mark had his eyes open to a unique opportunity when he attended the 2016 Fight To End Cancer Gala.

“The Fight To End Cancer is the only charitable event that I know of that takes the spirit, energy, strategy and tactical finesse of Boxing and uses those skills to effectively raise awareness and funds to fight a disease that affects all mankind.

For me, taking the time necessary to train and fight a good fight for the benefit and entertainment of all on May 27, 2017, is a holistic voluntary experience.  A kind of experience that I have never had before.  It means making a contribution physically, mentally, monetarily and perhaps, most importantly, asking my colleagues, family and friends to do the same!”

Mark has set a goal of raising $20,000 for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in the hopes of funding cancer curing research at this internationally recognized institution.  Mark has passed the half way mark of his goal, but still has a way to go with only weeks left.  Make a donation towards his fight HERE.

What do you think of your opponent?

“Hmmm…well being the sensitive caring individual that I am….I feel sorry for my opponent! Having said that….I will admit, from time to time, I have watched his left hook clobber/ annihilate/ eviscerate the heavy bag.  I do not find that ability to be a particularly desirable attribute of my opponent!”

How do you see your fight going?  Any advice for your opponent?

I imagine the fight going very well…..for ME!  Unfortunately not so well for Randy! Forfeiture, run for the hills, practice falling to the mat safely….any of those would be good advice!

Any final thoughts?

“This fight is indeed a chess match filled with strategy and urgency.  There will be pain in the process…but…it will be the good types of pain…pain that leads to healing, learning and strength!

This Old Man is fighting for the good pain.  The pain that we endure to make things better, to solve the unsolvable and to evolve humanity.  So now I ask everyone reading this to endure the pain of reaching for your credit card or cheque book and despite the agony involved…give generously”
