WHAT?
The Friday Night Fights ‘To End Cancer’ made its debut in 2017 at the Gentlemen’s Expo. In contrast to the formal black-tie dinner of the FTEC Gala, Friday Night Fights offers the excitement of dynamic amateur boxing matches in a stylish yet more relaxed cocktail setting, all in support of the incredible work of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. This event also serves as a warmup to the highly anticipated FTEC2025 Gala, scheduled for May 31, 2025.
We are currently seeking our next group of charity boxers for FTEC2025! If you’re interested in stepping into the ring for a great cause, submit your application HERE. With a goal of raising $3 million this year, 100% of all proceeds will be donated to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

This year’s lineup features incredible fighters, including FTEC Ambassador Davin Yu, who has already raised $5,000, and FTEC Fighter Alumni Daniel Cellucci, now an open-class boxer who made his debut at our 2014 gala. Joining the roster is Idrissa Sanogo, who recently played Lil’ Zay in Amazon/MGM Studios’ The Fire Inside, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film, about two-time Olympic champion Claressa Shields, is already gaining Oscar buzz.
Meet FTEC Ambassador, Davin Yu
Cancer hit my family hard when my late wife was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Modern medicine gave us one more year together, but we ultimately lost her to this terrible disease. She’s survived by our two sons, who’ve experienced the devastation of cancer firsthand. Their strength through this difficult time has been a constant source of inspiration for me.
In the aftermath of her passing, I found solace in training—channeling my grief and pain into something positive. Fitness became more than just a way to stay in shape; it became my outlet for healing. Each day, I push myself to make the most of life, not just for me, but for my sons and everyone around me.
Through this journey, I’ve come to realize that I need to help change the dialogue surrounding cancer. It’s not just about the disaster it brings, but also about the hope we can create from it. Whether it’s in the gym, at home, or with my community, I want to spread the joy of fitness and encourage others to find strength, even in the face of overwhelming challenges.
