FTEC2017 FEATURED FIGHTER | BRANDON GLYNN

Leading up to Fight Night we will be featuring one of the incredible men and women who have joined the Fight to End Cancer, in support of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

Meet our #FeaturedFighter, out of the Blue Corner Brandon Glynn, sponsored by Make It Happen Media
It’s time to meet our Bout 1, Blue Corner Fighter, Brandon ‘Payday’ Glynn.  Brandon is an Account Executive at Eagle Professional Staffing, who has supported the Fight to End Cancer since the very beginning.

“Our organization sponsors FTEC every year.  Eagle is very well known for its involvement in various charities across Canada (we can take days off to assist with a charity!), so I naturally wanted to step up and do my part!  My current VP, Brendhan “Mayday” Malone, fought in FTEC a few years ago – and won (he loves making us watch the video of his fight on YouTube…) – so I’ve really got to show up to this fight!”

Brandon has stepped up to the plate in hopes of continuing the Eagle legacy, but with a more personal and meaningful agenda.

“…My Mother has just recently been re-diagnosed with severe lung cancer.  She had beaten it and been in remission for the last 7 years or so, it just came back as I started FTEC.  I’ll be dedicating my fight to her.”

Brandon’s mother is current recieving radiation and chemotherapy at both Princess Margaret and Mt. Sinai Hospitals.  Brandon has set a personal fundraising goal of 10k to support cancer research at the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation here in Toronto.  To make a donation towards Brandon’s goal, click HERE.

Let’s talk about your opponent. Tell us your thoughts on Will?

“Will is a great guy – really hard worker and pretty positive all around.  Plus, the dude is JACKED!  I’ve noticed he is copying my haircut as we have been co-training … also the guy wears CROCS – seriously?

Can’t get beat by a guy that wears CROCS…”

How is your training going so far? Any surprises?

“Training is going great!  Virgil and Jen really know how to kick my ass – I have nightmares about burpees.   As far as surprises go, I was surprised how out of shape I was!  It’s a lot to take in, but honestly worth every second.”

Any final thoughts?
“Both of my parents are cancer survivors – my mom beat breast cancer and lung cancer and my father beat a form of intestinal cancer.  I’ve witnessed first hand how physically demanding “the fight” to beat cancer can be.  I know that if people are strong enough to live with cancer, I should be able to train my ass off and get into a ring and take some punches.”

Can’t make it to the gala? Join us at BRAZEN HEAD for our BRING THE BEATS LIVE-TO-AIR PARTY and catch all the fights live on May 27th.
