In 2023, Liz and Rennie Cairns proudly stood alongside their son, Mitchell, as he courageously entered the ring to Fight To End Cancer. Fully committed to supporting his ambitious fundraising goal of $10,000 for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, they spearheaded the organization of the inaugural Golf To End Cancer event. Their unwavering dedication yielded remarkable results, raising over $2,600 in its first year and an impressive $6,000 in its second.

Shortly after their second tournament in 2024, the cause became even more personal, as Liz was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. Her diagnosis brought a renewed sense of urgency and purpose to the family’s mission, making their dedication to the initiative even more powerful. Today, the Cairns family and friends continue to lead with strength and heart, eagerly anticipating the next tournament through their annual ambassador initiatives—and warmly inviting the community to take part in this deeply meaningful cause.
