Amanda Galle Raises a Cumulative $12,000 for the Fight To End Cancer — Including $3,000 from This Year’s KO Cancer Bootcamps
Amanda Galle and Waterloo Regional Boxing Academy Join Forces to KO Cancer

Champion boxer Amanda Galle continues to prove she’s a true fighter—both inside and outside the ring. Her journey of resilience began long before her professional success, when in 2013, her mother, Nicolina Galle, was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. At the time, Amanda was training for a national title but took on the additional role of sole caregiver for her mother. Her unwavering determination left a lasting impact on those around her, including Coach Rick Cadilha of the Waterloo Regional Boxing Academy, who has known Amanda since her early amateur days.
“It takes a warrior to train and face adversity in the ring… Amanda did all this while caring for her mother,” recalls Cadilha. “Mrs. Galle was so proud of her daughter, and I truly believe she stayed on this earth just to see Amanda win the Canadian title. While most would have celebrated with an after-party, Amanda rushed home to share that victory with her mom.”
When Amanda launched her KO Cancer Bootcamp initiative in support of the Fight To End Cancer (FTEC), Coach Cadilha saw it as the perfect opportunity for his athletes to give back while training with one of Canada’s best. The result was a powerful turnout in Waterloo, with 28 participants raising $905 for cancer research. Inspired by Amanda’s story and dedication, Cadilha personally contributed an additional donation to the cause.
KO Cancer: Amanda Galle Brings the Heat to AMCA

Amanda’s Annual KO Cancer Bootcamp, held at All Canadian Martial Arts (AMCA), further demonstrated the strength of community. With 9 enthusiastic kids and 33 adults taking part, the high-energy session raised an additional $1,800. Together, Amanda’s 2025 events have contributed $3,000 to her ongoing fundraising total of $12,000, all in support of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation’s Guided Therapeutics (GTx) Program.
Amanda’s fight is personal—and through her passion and purpose, she’s empowering others to step into the ring for something bigger. Her story reminds us that true champions are made not just by titles won, but by the lives they uplift along the way.
Amanda Galle: The Undefeated Force Fighting In and Out of the Ring
Amanda Galle is Canada’s top Professional Bantamweight boxer, ranked #1 with an undefeated record of 11-0-1. Prior to turning pro, Amanda dominated the amateur circuit, collecting numerous decorative titles: 3x Canadian National Champion, Team Canada Rep 2014, 2018. 4x Ringside World Boxing Champion, & Boxing Ontario’s 2012 Female Athlete of the Year. Though she keeps busy with her professional boxing career, to say the least, Amanda continues to find ways to work the Fight To End Cancer into her everyday interactions.
Amanda is the embodiment of perseverance in the face of unthinkable obstacles. She achieved her status as an indomitable Champion in 2022, the same year that she suffered the most profound personal loss, the loss of her mother.

“When I am asked what the term cancer means to me, I say to you it is responsible for the loss of my loved ones, including my mother.
The term cancer has caused opponents that I have faced to take recognition in defeating me in that ring, but it was not my opponents that beat me, it was the cancer around me. The support I have extended to my family over and over has consumed so much of me.
The term cancer is the reason I train physically 2- 4 hours every day, to better myself mentally! I physically fight with my two hands. Everything my mother had to go through physically, emotionally, and spiritually, that I cannot overcome and fight for her, I put into my fight to end cancer.
So, I do this in honour of her. I do this to execute the rage I feel. I do this to be stable enough to endure it all, and most of all I do this in honour of those that it has defeated.”
