Beyond uniting 100 participants, this year’s Survivor Bootcamp marks a significant milestone: Mariela Burkett’s completion of nearly 35,000 burpees, translating to almost $35,000 in donations to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation!
Mariela Burkett’s story epitomizes perseverance, especially as she celebrates her remarkable ten-year milestone of being cancer-free. Since her triumph, Mariela has elevated her dedication to fitness, personal training, and motivating others to unprecedented heights, giving birth to the legendary Survivor Bootcamp. More than just a fitness session, it’s a fusion of renewal and familial connection, embodying Mariela’s essence: resilient, inspiring, and transformative. To truly grasp its impact, one must experience it firsthand, knowing that every contribution directly supports the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
Vincent (seen receiving CPR from Mariela) returns to Survivor Bootcamp year after year to support Mariela. Not only does he push the limits during the bootcamp, but Vincent also dedicates himself as a nephrologist at Credit Valley Hospital, providing crucial assistance to the community in their times of greatest need. This event is host to some remarkable survivors. We also had the chance to catch up with Dave Mercer, who recently overcame kidney cancer and received support from Vincent throughout his battle!
Get a head start on 2025… Join Mariela for her next Survivor Bootcamp on Saturday, Apr. 26, 2025!

About The Fight To End Cancer
The Fight To End Cancer (FTEC) is a year-round initiative carried out by ambassadors, sponsors and volunteers worldwide. Over $2,000,000 has been donated to date, since our inaugural year, in 2012. Funds raised by FTEC are donated directly to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Each year we celebrate the incredible hard work and dedication of our FTEC family with a black-tie charity boxing gala. This gala showcases ten men and women who represent our Official Fight Team. Our goal is to raise funds for cancer research year-round with the support of the local community and business owners. Let’s make a difference now in the fight to end cancer, for a long and successful future for everyone. This is an event like no other and has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in Toronto. www.fighttoendcancer.com
