We are so happy to announce that the inaugural 2023 Rockin’ Out and Knockin’ Out Cancer event at Dakota’s Sports Bar and Grill was a GROOVY Success!

The inaugural event was a huge hit, raising over $2,500 in support of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation! Funds were raised by ticket sales and a Knockout Raffle featuring prizes by Labatt along with a pair of tickets to the much-anticipated FTEC2023 Gala. The top 3 raffle tickets were sold by Victoria Williams, Jeff Skrypek, and Mark Maristela, who also won a pair of tickets each to the FTEC2023 Gala, courtesy of ALOE Finance.

A MASSIVE thank-you goes out to Dakota’s Sports Bar and Grill for generously hosting and sponsoring the event!

The night started off with a celebration after the Leafs won in overtime sending them into the next round in the playoffs. We were also joined by special guests, Silvano Tardella and Marian Scopel, who are sponsoring Jeff Skrypek via Nak Design Strategies.

Another highlight of the evening was Jeff Skrypek, an FTEC2023 Fighter who blew away the crowd with a special performance featuring his skills on guitar and singing!

The featured performers of the evening were Soda Blue and Port Credit Revival, who graciously decided to donate their fees for the night to Jeff’s Fight To End Cancer.

A special note from our performers…

“We all know people who have struggled with or succumbed to Cancer.

The cook at the Dakota’s Sports Bar and Grill wanted to thank you personally for helping support Princess Margaret Foundation. He is a cancer survivor due to the great work performed everyday at Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH).

My father was a cancer survivor for 20 years after his diagnosis of prostate cancer due to the great work of PMH.

I lost my first wife Dana to Pancreatic Cancer ultimately. However with the great work of PMH, other surgeons of the University Health Network, and her strength we were given an additional 22 months from the diagnosis.

That was a gift.”

About The Fight To End Cancer

The Fight To End Cancer (FTEC) is a year-round initiative carried out by ambassadors, sponsors and volunteers worldwide.  Over $2,000,000 has been donated to date, since our inaugural year, in 2012.  Funds raised by FTEC are donated directly to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.  Each year we celebrate the incredible hard work and dedication of our FTEC family with a black-tie charity boxing gala.  This gala showcases ten men and women who represent our Official Fight Team.  Our goal is to raise funds for cancer research year-round with the support of the local community and business owners.  Let’s make a difference now in the fight to end cancer, for a long and successful future for everyone.  This is an event like no other and has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in Toronto. www.fighttoendcancer.com
