“Big Bad” Thad Ridsdill, born 16 December 1991, is a Canadian born, Dutch amateur boxer ,with a current record of 34-16.  He has plans of turning pro in the near future.  He currently competes in the middleweight division and is a very active Ontario boxer competing in as many tournaments and events as he can.  These include:  Brampton cup 2016 – Gold, Provincials 2016 – Silver, Nationals 2017, and Silver Gloves 2017 – Gold.
Thad became an athlete when he was very young and has always excelled in sports, beginning with dirt bike racing by the age of 6.  He later went on to play rugby and football, before finding the sport of boxing, when he was 18.  It was the late Cody Nixon who introduced Thad to boxing seven years ago.  Thad has been with that same club since.
Don Nelson, Mike Power, and Brad Gonzalez have been Thad’s trainers and coaches since the beginning and have come along way together.

His coaches knew early on that Thad would be one to keep an eye on after kicking off his amateur career with an impressive record of 9-0!
Thad is no stranger to coming in the underdog and walking out on top!  He has had his fair share of battles.  He is one of the most dedicated boxers in the league and is in the gym almost everyday, often more than once.  Eminem tracks and the hopes of a brighter future for his family fuel his many hours put into training and preparing to step into the ring.
Thad has come back with a new-found hunger for greatness in the sport following the birth of his daughter and a long eight months off.  His coaches, family support and his love for the fight, are what push him to keep getting back in the ring and continuing to box.

Thad’s Fight To End Cancer

The fight to end cancer is important to me because there is no one above cancer. Cancer attacks us all; the rich, the poor, the young and old, man and woman, black and white.  Everyone knows someone either with cancer, who survived cancer, or who didn’t.  I lost my opa to lung cancer 3 years ago and my grandma got through ovarion cancer.  I have loved ones who have battled the disease and won, I have loved ones who are still battling the disease and unfortunately I have loved ones who have lost their battle.  My Oma recently lost her battle this past summer.
Finding a cure is also important to me as a parent.  I want to know that in the future cancer will not be this incurable monster.
