FTEC2017 FEATURED FIGHTER | CHRIS SMALL

Leading up to Fight Night, we will be featuring one of the incredible men and women who have joined the Fight to End Cancer, in support of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

Meet our #FeaturedFighter, out of the Red Corner, Chris Small
Sponsored by: Wolfepoint Consulting
It’s time to meet our BOUT 2 Fighters, starting with Chris ‘Notorious’ Small!  Chris is the President and Principal Consultant of Wolfepoint Consulting, helping private and public sector companies optimize their IT.  So what lead him to FTEC?

“I have felt frustration and helplessness as people that I love have fought this terrible disease.  Since starting my training in January every punch, push-up and drop of sweat has been fueled by those emotions.”

Chris is looking to raise $15,000 for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation and is so close he can almost taste it!  He is 88% of the way with weeks to go and Chris is anxious to see the $15k raised!  Help Chris reach his goal HERE.  Tax receipts are available for all donations over $15.

Chris is dedicating his fight to his grandmother

Chris has dedicated his fight primarily to his grandmother who battled cancer for over 20 years.

Chris has dedicated his fight primarily to his grandmother who battled cancer for over 20 years. There close relationship and her long fight were hugely influential on the person Chris has become.

“True to her nature and reflective of her tenacity, she survived what would be her first bout with cancer and remained cancer free for another 20 years.  But true to its nature, the cancer came back and was not to be denied.

I was incredibly fortunate to have had so much time with such an amazing woman.  She was, and remains, an important part of who I am and try to be.  Its for my grandmother, Madeline, that the Fight To End Cancer is important to me”

When asked about his opponent, Michael, Chris came out swinging…

“My opponent is a very nice guy…you might even say he is sweet…like candy or maybe a creampuff.

My opponent has everything a boxer needs except speed, stamina, the ability to throw a punch and good defence.  In other words, he owns a pair of shorts and some gloves.  And the gloves were donated.”

A few fun facts about Chris; he has a black belt in Karate and was in the Canadian Forces for a few years after university!
Final thoughts?

“My training efforts alone aren’t going to move the research forward, for this I need your help.  Please take a moment, think about your family, your friends, your colleagues, and make a donation of any size.”

Can’t make it to the gala? Join us at BRAZEN HEAD for our BRING THE BEATS LIVE-TO-AIR PARTY and catch all the fights live on May 27th.
