Cancer Awareness Month Is A Year-Round Initiative

#CancerAwarenessMonth is year-round, for the Fight To End Cancer and many others.  Raising awareness and funds for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation are just a couple initiatives we’ve committed our lives to.  We are relentless, focusing on our mission to make the future a better place and to end cancer in our lifetime.
It’s important however, to take the opportunity to bring awareness to the incredible heroes, who’s lives revolve around the reality of these diseases.  Canadian Cancer Society released a recent report informing us that almost one in every two Canadians is expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, and one in four Canadians will die from the disease.

‘Currently, every year we’re seeing an increase in the number of cancer cases in Canada.’ – Dr. Leah Smith, Canadian Cancer Society

“Currently, every year we’re seeing an increase in the number of cancer cases in Canada,” said the society’s epidemiologist, Leah Smith.  “So between now and 2030, for example, we expect to continue to see a dramatic increase in the number of cancers diagnosed in Canada.

The Princess Margaret is one of the top 5 cancer research centres in the world.  They are committed to transforming cancer care through discovery research and clinical innovations that set new standards of care for Canada and the world.  In their words:

“At The Princess Margaret, personalized cancer medicine is at the heart of our vision: Conquer Cancer In Our Lifetime.  This is an overarching whole-person approach to patient care.  It’s about the right treatment for the right patient, at the right time.  Detecting cancers early leads to better outcomes.  We have been discovering new biomarkers and developing new molecular imaging technology that can visualize even the smallest cancers.”

As 2018 approaches quickly, we are looking for our next set of heroes who are ready to literally dedicate their lives to fighting cancer.
